Today

Believe it or not, I'm actually posting on the correct day-about events that happened TODAY! It's so good to have my blog caught up :)

Just a little running update. I had a lot of success running up in Michigan-I think the cooler/drier weather helped A LOT. On Friday I actually ran 4 miles! It took me 50 minutes and 7 seconds. I wanted to do it in under 50 minutes...SO CLOSE!

Today I ran as well...I wanted to go 3 miles, but shortly after 2 miles I started to get a bit dizzy...I think I was pretty dehydrated-didn't drink much yesterday...so I walked the last mile. I DID run up the big hill, and I DID run at a 12 min. mile pace-which, believe it or not, is faster than I was running in Michigan (12 1/2 min mile pace...) so it wasn't a complete loss. The race is this Saturday, so this week I have to make sure I get all my runs in.

My plan?

Monday-run 3

Tuesday-off

Wednesday-run 3 1/2

Thursday-run 2

Friday-Eat Pasta :) Actually...Friday is Chicken, Rice & Beans day...

Then Saturday the race is at 8 am. My goal is to run it at a 12 min. mile pace. We'll see!

Oh yeah...I'm gonna try & eat right this week too...Last week I ate my weight in hostess cupcakes, so I gotta eat better this week :)

Saying Goodbye

Well...it had to come to an end. We had and incredible week up in Michigan. I told my mom that I think it was the best time I've had up there in a long time (not that I've had bad times up there....ever! I just really had a good time this time :) ) We had gotten back pretty late Friday night...or Saturday morning :) It was about 1:00 am when we got home, so we slept in a little bit...ya know, until 7:30. Amazingly enough, Eli really didn't sleep in very much-he was up at 8:15 after being up until about midnight!

We got all of our stuff loaded up and said our goodbyes. Grandpa & Grandma McGregor came over to say goodbye.

I really didn't think we were going to have time, but we DID get up to see Grandpa Tuinstra. I was so glad we did! He seemed to be doing really good when we saw him. He was pretty talkative, and held Eli.

We headed out for Flint after we left Grandpa's rest home. We made our regular stop at Tim Hortons and got to the airport in plenty of time to board.
The flight home was okay...I think Eli was a bit overly tired, but once he fell asleep he was fine.
We got home and went over to Ryan & Jennifer's house for dinner. It was pretty nice to not have to worry about cooking! Thanks Jenny!
Eli went to bed early...and I'll be honest...I was asleep on the couch by 8:30...We were all a little tired from the trip.
We had SO much fun, and already miss it, but it IS good to be home too :)

Ya can't come to Michigan during baseball season and not go to Comerica Park (Especially when the Tigers are in the race for the pennant!)

Once we got inside the park Grandma took Eli on his first carousel ride. I think I took about 100 pictures-literally! He was SO cute holding on to the pole!

On our way to the Ferris Wheel we saw Paws! We were so excited to get our picture taken with the Tigers' mascot!

I went on with Eli & mom. I was a little surprised at how uneasy I was with the ride-I used to be able to ride rides so easily! Now I get dizzy and off balance :) Guess I'm getting old...

Oh yeah...there was a game too. We sat at the very top of the 200 section-it was perfect! There was a space behind us to put all of our 'stuff'. We were pretty high up, but you could still see really well.

This is a beautiful field. It's so much fun to go to an outdoor park! The weather was really nice too. It was a little breezy, but we put a jacket and long pants on Eli and he was fine. He did fall asleep for about 20 minutes, but all the cheering woke him up, and he didn't fall asleep until about midnight. Believe it or not, he never got fussy at all! He really enjoyed watching everything, and was very entertaining to the people around him :)

The Tigers, unfortunately, did not win...They are first in their division right now, but they need to get winnin'!

We had such a good time! I can't wait to go back :)

10 Months Old!

Well...it's that time again :) My baby is 10 months old today! Here's a few pictures...I tried to pick my favorite, but I just couldn't! He's just so stinkin' cute!

We went out to dinner tonight too. Unfortunately dad had an ambulance run, so he wasn't able to come. We went to 'Bob & Jamie's'. It was a good, hometown meal :) Grandpa & Grandma joined us.

Eli had some chicken & cottage cheese.

It was a nice time with family. We came home and played 'True Colors'. Randee won...apparently she 'knows herself'...Now we're all just sitting around contemplating going to bed.

Tomorrow is going to be a big day-Eli's going to his first Tiger's game! I hope I have enough room on my memory card (8GB) to hold all the pictures I'm gonna take... :)

Family Haircuts

One of our 'traditions' when coming home is to head to Randee's shop and get hair cuts. Well...this trip was no exception :) I got a Malibu treatment and while it set on my hair Randee taught me how to cut Edgar's hair so I can start cutting his hair from now on.

It went pretty good...

...and I didn't even cut myself :) Now I just gotta get some clippers.

The 'star' of the day, though, was Eli (of course...) He got his first hair cut today!

He sat really well, and didn't really get too squirmy.

I couldn't believe he was already getting his hair cut!
