Memorial Day

Today Edgar had the day off, so we decided to spend the morning at a park nearby.

The scenery was gorgeous.

Budding Musicians

On Saturday Eli and I needed to leave the house so Edgar could pull up all the tile in the kitchen & laundry room. What a job! Edgar did most of it himself-his dad came over for the last couple of hours to help clean up. He was exhausted. BUT, he got it all out in one day-way to go!

Eli and I did no work and all play :) We went over to Abuela's house and had a day of fun. Katie was there too, because her mom and dad were out of town. The kids played so good together. We went to the pool for a while-Katie is getting more and more brave each summer! Eli loves the water too. They were pretty sad to leave.

I didn't take any pictures all day until they got the instruments out. Katie was playing and singing along. She was making up the most interesting songs :)

After a bath for Eli, Abuela joined in. I can't remember what the instrument she is playing is named...but Eli loved it. She told me it's actually a fruit that is hollowed out and then ridges are made on it. You use a little 'tool' to rub over it to make a sound. It's a rhythm instrument.

Eli wanted a turn! I have some videos, but with my new camera I haven't figured out how to view them on the computer, and have yet to try and upload it onto the blog...I need to figure it out, because the kids were being so cute!

We had lots of fun, ate WAY too much, and went home good and tired :) The perfect day!

Chloe's cookies

Chloe's birthday was this past Monday...and as has been my 'habit' this year, her cookies are a bit late :) She gave a pretty easy order...she wanted hearts. Above are just a few of them...I think there are 15 on their way...and I may have thrown in a few Sonic cookies for Caleb...who knows...Unfortunately, because of the holiday weekend, they won't get there until Tuesday. Hopefully they won't be stale...and hopefully they won't be broken like Keira's were...

I decided to play with some candies on the cookies rather than just icing. I though these silver things were pretty (they have a name...I just can't remember what it is...) I even put some little pigs on one :) They were so cute! You can see one in the picture below.

Today we got to see our little girl again :) And yes, she's still a girl :) The Ultrasound Tech was quite certain. I was going to post the 'It's a girl' picture, but thought I'd spare our daughter that humiliation...

Anyway, here are a few shots of her. I put the picture on without any labels, then the same picture with labels in case you can't make out what is what :)

We were informed that I'm a week farther than I thought, which was fabulous news. We set a tentative C-Section date too, so that's exciting. It's so crazy that I'm over half way done with this pregnancy already!

After the ultrasound Eli and I went to McDonald's for lunch (yes...that's 2 days in a row...what can I say? My baby loves fries...not good...) and then went to Gator Fred's. We've been there once before-Eli loves it. It has a bunch of bounce houses and an area set up like a make-believe street (with pretend fire house, grocery store, etc.)

Eli decided to pump a little iron:

He played for a couple of hours, then fell asleep, exhausted, on the way home. He took a good, long 3 hour nap while I cleaned a little bit. (I actually dusted...so I truly feel like I accomplished something today...) When he woke up we had Ryan, Jennifer and the kids over for a gourmet meal of hot dogs :) It was kind of impromptu, but very fun. Nothing like grilled hot dogs... :)

Now I'm just waiting for the 'Dancing with the Stars' finale to start...9 minutes away!

18 Month appointment

We finally made it to the doctor's office today for Eli's 18 month appointment. We were suppose to go 2 weeks ago, but he was sick, and this was the first chance we had to reschedule.

Eli continues to grow :) He has grown 2 inches in the last 3 months-he's 34.5 inches tall which puts him in the 94th percentile. I knew he was getting tall! He gained a little over 3 lbs, and is now 29 lbs, which puts him in the 85th percentile. He got a few shots, which are never fun, but he did fine. He always cries for about 15 seconds and then he's done. He's my tough boy :) We went to McDonald's for lunch, which is always fun.

We got home and he took a good long nap, had dinner, then we headed to the pool for a little bit. It's always fun to have daddy along-he plays with Eli while I relax :)

This video is Eli blowing bubbles in the water. It's kinda funny...he'll blow bubbles, and then push your head in so you can blow bubbles too :)

He's really starting to love the water-a big change from a couple of weeks ago!

Bush Gardens!

On Friday we were able to go to Bush Gardens. We met with Mom, Krista, Katie, Eric, Leilani & Isaac for a fun afternoon. It was super hot on Friday, so we headed right over to the water play area.
Katie had so much fun!

Eli had a blast too. I even got in and played. I was VERY hot, and had wore my bathing suit, so I got soaked :) It felt wonderful.

After the water area we went to lunch and then rode some rides. Eli and I rode this one together. He cried the whole time :( Gotta work on that...

We rode the carousel too...Eli cried the whole time on this one too...I was pretty surprised. He's ridden carousels before and loved them! I think he was just hot and tired. This is also a picture of my ever growing belly...lovely, huh? :)

Eric & Leilani had Isaac with them. It was nice to see Eric-seems like we haven't seen him in a while!

We went and played in the giant sand pit since Eli wasn't too fond of the rides. There was an orange tarp over the sand pit...hence the orange 'glow'.

Yup...I got in there and played too...nothing like playing in the sand when you are all sweaty...

It was such a fun day-it seemed to go by so fast! We were hot and tired when we left, but happy. Mom treated Eli, Katie and I to ice cream (Eric, Leilani and Isaac stayed later) and then we went home.

We can't wait to go back soon!

Cousins

On Wednesday Katie came over to play. We loaded up the wagon and headed to the park! Lately Eli has been loving the swings...especially when he's got a pal right next to him!
Katie enjoyed playing in the sand...
...and climbing on all the fun playground toys.

Eli seemed content to just draw on the sidewalk. He stayed there and drew most of the time we were there.

Eli always has fun playing with Katie-she needs to come over more often :)

Forget figure skating...

There was Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin... ...and now make way for Melendez!





Whew! All that practicing wears a kid out!
