Fall Festival

This afternoon we got Eli dressed up and headed out to the country! One of the elders at our church hosted a fall festival at his home. As soon as we stepped outside of the car, I felt like I was back home-I love the smell of the country!

Uncle Ryan came over and tried to get Eli to walk...still working on that...I suppose Superman doesn't need to walk...why not just fly?!

Carly got her face painted like a cat. She was thrilled to be eating a snow cone...and cotton candy...and soda...and mom was thrilled that she wasn't getting a pillowcase full of candy :)

Edgar walked Eli through the 'costume parade'...well...he 'flew' him through...Eli won the 'best superhero' award. In the awards was a coupon for a free McFlurry...so I think Christine and I are going to have to go out and celebrate our cute kids by eating their prize :)

It was a bit warm...can you see Eli sweating?! It was sad that I was worried that I forgot sunscreen...ON HALLOWEEN! It is NOT suppose to be this hot on October 31 :(

There were all sorts of activities, and a TON of food. I took a pumpkin dessert bar thing. It was pretty good-not too sweet, which was nice. It tasted a lot like pumpkin...imagine that.

We ended up leaving before it was all over. The 'Bluegrass Band' was about to start playing, but Eli had missed his afternoon nap, so I think he was about done.

We got home just in time to hand out candy to the kids in the neighborhood. Unfortunately we got way too much candy. I wonder if I can think of anyone that could use some candy...maybe someone that didn't get a 'pillowcase full' tonight? HA! Just kidding. Jennifer would kill me.

The rest...well, sort of :)

Okay, I think I'm done editing. I just shot off an e-mail to family with the rest of the pictures, so if you want to see the rest let me know, and I'll e-mail it to you :)

I was just about to go to bed...but I decided to 'just edit one more picture'...so I pulled this one up and started working...Nothing too out of the ordinary. Just my little cutie :)

Then I zoomed WAY in on the eye...and can you believe what I saw?! That is me and Edgar trying to get Eli to smile with Laurie on the ground taking his picture. Umm...can anybody say awesome camera?! Holy smokes! You can even see the clouds in the sky!

It's a bird, it's a plane!

It's Super Eli! Today we had a Halloween party to go to :) Eli got dressed up as Superman (if you can't tell) I was going to put him in his pumpkin outfit, but it was really warm today, so I thought that this would be cooler. We ended up staying inside for the entire party, so it didn't really matter, but his outfit was cute anyway :) The pants are a bit long, but oh well. The outfit is actually pajamas, so in addition to being super cute, it is super comfy!

This is my neighbor's son. His dad just got hired with the fire department. I think somebody wants to be like daddy when he grows up :)

This little girl was super cute. I was quite a ways away, and she was movin', so the shot is blurry, but you can see her costume. Adorable!

And the shoes are perfect! (I seem to remember a pair of these floating around...)

The party was fun. We stayed for a couple of hours and then headed for home. There were over 30 kids there, so after a while Eli started getting fussy-he can only handle big loud crowds of people for so long. Plus he didn't get a nap...

We got home and he took a nap...and, ummm...so did I. I completely crashed. I woke up after 2 hours feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. I feel better now :)

He finally fell off the worm (no injuries) and we sat on the dinosaur.

We had fun playing at a park that we will soon be visiting often...so I'm pretty sure the worm will show up in several more pictures :)

That was our day! You would think after a 2 hour nap I wouldn't be tired...but I am. I'm gonna brush my teeth and go to bed!

One more thing...Stellan-the little boy with a heart condition-is not doing well. Would you pray for him?

Getting up early

One of the reasons I have been trying to get up early is so I can get Eli's pictures edited from the pictures our friend took for his one-year old shots. I figured I'd post them as I finish them...I only have one done this morning...I've been doing some other 'stuff'.

SO, here's the one I worked on this morning :) I'm going to try posting a really large size...so let me know if it shows up on your screen.

I also realize I've overdone blog posts in the last 12 hours...I think I'm making up for not being able to post the last couple of days...I'll try and cut it out-I think I was going through withdrawl...

Ugh

Why, why, WHY, are we having record breaking heat...AGAIN! Forcast for 'trick-or-treat' day...89 degrees with high humidity. Anybody every heard of fall? I'm convinced it no longer exists.

A good book...

If you can't tell, tonight I have needed to just zone out and 'play' with my blog and pictures. It's a stress relief, oddly enough. SO, I have just spent the last 2 hours organizing my pictures (ummm...I've taken over 600 since I got my 'new' (aka borrowed) camera, and they were just random numbers cluttering up our computer. They now neatly organized files with appropriate names. Now I just need to back them all up...) and posting some of those pictures here on my blog. There are about 5 other entries I would love to do, but I need to stop at some point and go to bed :) None of the pictures have been edited...sorry...I've just been 'throwing' them up there...but ya get the picture...(ha ha ha...)

Anyway, the last few days have been busy...and it's all about to get busier. I've been getting up at 5 (or 5:30) to try and get a head start on things...but at the end of the day I still feel like I have a ton to do. BUT, sometimes, when you feel overwhelmed, ya just need to go read a good book in the park...

Ahhhh...I feel much better now...

Cookies, Cookies, Cookies! (hungry yet?)

I know I posted a picture of these cookies already, but I thought I'd put a few 'close-ups'...plus I've added the Pumpkin cookies I finished yesterday. I figure that something that takes me at least 2 hours a dozen is blog-worthy...especially since I've made EIGHT dozen cookies in the last week! I think that's why I've been busy. The GREAT thing is, I LOVE making them, and wish I could make them more often. And the REALLY great thing is, I made about 1 dozen too many...so we get to eat a bunch :)

I've got lots of cookies to make in the next couple of months, so I am sure I will be boring you with my 'cookie' posts.
