9.4.2012 Disney

Edgar and I decided to end our summer on a very fun note...so we packed our stuff and headed for Disney.  We didn't know if the kids were 'old enough' to really appreciate all the fun stuff at Disney, but decided to try it anyway.  I'm not sure what we were worried about.  The kids LOVED it.  They had the most amazing day!
So..get some coffee...there are 46 pictures and a video...and enjoy our day at Disney!

We got there in time to see the train come and the park open.  It was so fun!  If we go again, we will definitely get there for this again!

 'Look Leah!  It's Mickey Mouse!'

The big man himself!  Eli has a new 'favorite' :)  He loved him :)

Our first view of the castle!  (Last time I saw that castle I was running through it :) )
We headed right for the Peter Pan ride.  I didn't get a picture of that ride, but Eli really liked it.  Leah was scared, and kept saying 'All done!'  It was kind of dark...

Riding 'It's a Small World'.  We ended up being on that ride for a while longer than I had hoped.  The ride stopped for quite a while-I was worried we were going to spend the day in there...I'm thinking that would be a very not fun way to spend my day.  Leah loved the ride, though in this picture she looks scared :) She enjoyed the music and all the fun stuff to look at.

This is Eli's 'I'm so excited I have to bite my nails' look.  He had this look a lot during the day.
We rode 'Pirates of the Carribean' after that.  Probably not the best ride for Leah.  She REALLY wanted off that ride...It's was kind of humorous listening us trying to convince her that the creepy pirates were funny, and the mangy old dogs were cute little puppies...

Meeting Donald Duck.  Eli's thrilled...Leah is not so sure.  This was the best picture I got of her...she looked very scared in all the other pictures...

While we were walking the music stared and the dancing began.

Aladdin got in on the dance...though I don't think he was suppose to be in there...

Jasmine was laughing at Aladdin telling him to get back over with her.  I'm not sure I was suppose to see her :)

Eli went and danced with them (I think this was one of my favorite parts of the day...)

 Doing the hokey poky.

Here's a little video:
He loved it and didn't want to leave.

 Riding Aladdin's carpet.
Edgar, Eli & I also rode Thunder Mountain (I think that's what it was called).  A big rollercoaster for a 3 year old!  But he had a blast!

 The Tiki room

 Lunch on Tom Sawyer's Island.

 Happy mommy

 Handsome boy

 Silly little girl

Ringing the bell on the island

Edgar's parents came along-they were so awesome to have there with us!

 Handsome daddy

 Love my little boy!

Okay...so a lot of pictures of us...but we're so cute!

 Abuela & Abuelo

After lunch, these two (very hot) kiddos took a nap.

Getting a few pictures in while the kids are sleeping

Edgar and I posing like the statue...(you'll have to click on the picture to see the statue...)

 What a cute couple :)

Edgar and his dad got this picture taken.  Is that Harrison Ford or Edgar?! :)

I think this was a highlight for Edgar (and Eli).  We drove the race cars.  Edgar said that Eli was saying 'Ka-CHOW' the whole time.  Edgar let him steer.  He said Eli was focusing so hard on what he was doing.  He loved it :)

My future race car drivers ;)

A little ice cream to cool us off-it was a very hot day!

The show in front of the castle

 Fun :)

 A carousel ride
I just want to add this, because it was one of MY favorite parts of the day.  At dinner, Eli said 'Want favorite color, mom'.  So I said 'Eli, what is your favorite color' and he said 'My name is Red'...now, that may not seem significant to you, but he has never gotten the concept of 'favorite' before (at least not that I could tell) so him telling me his favorite color (although he used the wrong 'mechanics' in telling me) was kind of amazing.  I almost started crying :)

Abuela got the kids balloons...you would have thought it was a punching bag the way Leah was treating it :)

I think this was the highlight for Eli.  He kept asking to see Mickey Mouse.  We picked the perfect day to go-the lines were short, and we were in the room with Mickey within 10 minutes.  He was so excited to give Mickey a hug!

 His 'excited' pose :)

Leah, after walking all through the park saying 'Mickey Mouse!  Where ARE you?!' all day, freaked out as soon as she saw Mickey and Minnie.

Look at that big 'ol lip stuck out..

 Love it :)

Family picture (is this one okay for your wall, mom?)

Zoomed in on Eli...Look at him holding on to Mickey's hand :)

 The whole crew :)

We rode a few more rides, then watched the fireworks.

What an amazing day.  The kids had a great time, and I gotta say, I had a blast as well.  There is nothing better than seeing your kids that happy :)
