"Cousin! Come back!"

Yesterday we got to have a fun day with Isaac. Eli always loves having someone to play with, and Leah had fun watching them play together :) This is where Isaac spent the first 45 minutes...he loved playing with his car seat...or maybe he wanted to go home, who knows :)

Now, when I said the boys played together...I really meant they played at the same time :) Eli is just starting to play with other kids and Isaac is still pretty much doing 'parallel play', but they played at the same time :) Eli got this little road mat from a friend, and he LOVES driving his cars on it-even if it's a bus that is way to big for it...I have to get to IKEA and get him a bigger mat...

Eli was trying to teach Isaac his letters.

Isaac watched for a minute, then crawled away. Eli immediately said "COUSIN! Where are you GOING?!"

It cracked me up...Eli called Isaac 'cousin' all day long. I think he thinks that's Isaac's name. This morning when I showed Eli Isaac's pictures he squealed 'cousin!'...I tried to get him to say Isaac, but I think 'cousin' is easier to say.

Most of the day Isaac could be seen playing with this toy. Best.Toy.Ever. If you have a kid and don't have this toy, you gotta get it. Eli loved it when he was little and still loves it. He often has a hard time sharing it with his sister. He did really good sharing it with 'cousin' yesterday, though :)

Leah had fun having Isaac over too. Isaac was happy to help her bounce...

While Eli doesn't have a superman t-shirt, he didn't want to be left out of the 'superhero' club...so blankie became a cape...I think he's 'super handyman' here...

The weekend

Friday Edgar took the day off. I'm so glad he did. He's been working so hard lately, he deserved a day off. I had an eye appointment in the morning, and then went and got a pedicure while Edgar took care of the kids. It was a nice little break for me :) Then I remembered that I was suppose to make a cake for Edgar's grandfather, so I spent the afternoon baking-which is always fun. That evening we headed over to Abuelito's house for some cake. Leah snugglin' with Abuelito
I had to change Eli's shirt before we left...and he insisted that he wanted the shirt with the letters (the Alaska shirt) AND the orange shirt...he got his way :)

We didn't stay late...the kids needed to go to bed. It was a nice evening seeing everyone.

On Saturday Eli wanted to paint...

He started painting on paper, but discovered it's more fun to paint on your arms...

...and your face. He had a blast, and I got the floor swept and another cake made...and got to talk to my sister without interruptions. Totally worth the mess.

I did take him outside and hose him down before putting him in the tub, though...THAT he didn't like. Apparently the water was too cold...

The other day I went in to check on Eli, who had been sleeping for an unusually long time, and this is what I found:

Yesterday (the 28th) we went to a nearby park for some fun. I was so glad to get out of the house-I woke up SO cranky. Eli had peed through his diaper and left a very substantial puddle for me to step in in the hallway (how do you DO that when you are wearing a diaper?) and then wanted to play with mommy...all of this was at 6:30 am...and I was NOT in the mood to play. So by 10:00 I was ready for a distraction. The park did the trick!

Leah was enjoying the straps in the stroller...this reminded me of the giraffes at the zoo...

She took a nice nap at the park while Eli played...and I chatted with friends. It was exactly what I needed to get me out of my rotten mood.

After discussing with Edgar, I think this is when we would say Leah is officially 5 months old. What do you do when she was born on the 30th, and there is no 30th in February? SO, yesterday Leah was 5 months old.

A little about what she can do at 5 months...

She can almost sit up, she can roll one way (back to belly) she says 'bababababa', she eats every 4 hours, she sleeps 12 hours at night (YAY!) I change her diaper about 9 times a day, she looks cute in everything, she smiles at anyone that will smile at her, she loves her brother and is always entertained by him, she likes to be held, she doesn't really like TV (at least not like Eli did at this age), she loves rattles, and her bug (pictured above), and when she cries really hard, if you get her naked, she'll stop.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head :) Of course, Eli just got up from his nap, so I'm a bit more distracted than I was 2 minutes ago...

And lastly, Leah is not afraid of monsters. Just sayin'

The last few days

Just a few pictures from the last couple of days. This picture made me laugh. Lately, Eli has been wanting to hold Leah...a lot. She goes along with it for the most part. I love to watch him snuggle her...but at times I fear for her life :) Apparently, by the look on her face, she is a little concerned too.
Yesterday we went to the park. Eli's favorite spot is the swing.

Today we went to a different park. It was a little over a mile away, so we got a good walk in first...well...I got a walk in. The kids just got pushed in the stroller :) The park was nice-the stuff was a little 'old' for Eli...but it was fun. We spent most of the time on the swings :)

We headed for home, had lunch and the kids took a nap.

After dinner tonight we went outside to play for a while.

We went inside and Eli got in the tub :) He got to take a nice long bath where he used his tub crayons. Fun times.

Edgar got home late tonight. He's been working super hard lately (well...he always works hard!) He's home now...hopefully he gets a day off tomorrow!

No big plans for the weekend. Kind of excited about that. It's been a while since we've had NOTHING going on for a weekend. Maybe I'll get the house cleaned...or maybe not...

This and that

Not too much going on today. Just a normal Tuesday. The biggest event of the day was when Eli bit Leah's finger so hard he left teeth prints and bit through the first layer of skin. Lovely. She cried pretty hard. She's fine. I really don't think he meant to hurt her-he seemed kinda scared when she started screaming. And then he cried when he got punished. And then he was mad that he was put to bed. Hopefully he won't bite again. We'll see...

Today, in an attempt to eat something sweet, I made a bagel, smeared peanut butter on it, and then sprinkled chocolate chips on it. It was delicious. I really need to go grocery shopping, though...because peanut butter and chocolate chips are about all we have in the house. It could be worse, I suppose :) We got out Leah's exosaucer that we got at a consignment sale. She likes it. She still likes her 'jumpy' thing better, but this is a fun change for her.

My mom also sent her this diaper cover that she made-so cute! It's fun to know she can make those for her :) Now if I make Leah a dress, she can make a matching diaper cover...ya know...cuz a girl's gotta match :)

Edgar and I are sitting here, both on our computers...and that is our evening. I am actually thinking about going to bed...at 9:00...Not sure why I'm so tired. But when I think about it...I've been tired my whole life. Ask my mom. I can always use a nap :)
