Happy Birthday Uncle Eric!

On Friday night the family got together to celebrate Eric's birthday. I think it's just more fun to have a birthday when you've got your own kid on your lap :)

Eli gave Isaac a goodnight hug. I LOVE that Eli gives hugs now. He'll hug you and pat your back while he hugs you. SO cute. He'll even say 'I love you' when he gives you one...it sounds more like 'lud lu', but I'll take what I can get.

Learning to Share

On Wednesday Isaac came over to play with us while his mommy went to work. Isn't he getting big?!
I just want to eat those cheeks...but I won't. I promise.
Isaac was missing his mommy, so we decided he needed a little distraction. We loaded up the car and headed to Gator Fred's for a fun morning of playing. Eli just wandered around and played for 2 hours. I always kept him in view, but I think he forgot that I existed for a couple of hours...

Eli also got to meet Gator Fred himself! He was pretty excited. Isaac loved watching all of the kids play. He was so happy while we were there. Both kiddos fell asleep on the way home-they were wore out!

After a nap the boys played with the toys. Eli is in the process of learning to share...Isaac wanted the star...so did Eli. Eli got the yellow one,

but he wanted the pink one too...can you see how much Eli likes to share?

It's so hard when you don't get your way!

Oh the agony!

This literally was the look Isaac gave Eli the entire time he threw his little tantrum...and his mommy didn't try and comfort him...she just took pictures.

Eventually Isaac lost interest in the pink star, and all was right in the world again.

Isaac had a great afternoon. He played and talked and smiled. He was pretty fun.

Eli tried to push Isaac around in the walker...Isaac didn't like it much. I have no idea why Eli is crying...crazy kid.

We had a lot of fun playing with Isaac. As I was loading up the car I kept thinking that soon 2 car seats would seem like nothing...and watching 2 kids instead of 1 would be second nature...well...in a few months anyway :) Less than 6 weeks left!

A Week Filled With Friends!

This week has been one fun week! Monday the cousins got together (see previous post), Tuesday a bunch of kids from the mommy group I am in came over (along with their moms), Wednesday, Eli went to Olivia's house while I went to my 32 week appointment (baby is doing great!), Thursday we went to Sam's with Aunt Jennifer, and today Olivia came over to play! WHEW! We were busy, but it was a FUN buys!

Olivia and Eli really play good together. It's so cute to watch them play. Eli gets so excited when he sees her-he calls her 'Liva'...which I just might have to call her from now on.

They played with ALL of Eli's toys, watched TV and ate lunch. (WAY impressed with how well Olivia can feed herself...Eli needs to take some lessons).

One of their favorite toys was the piano...this was the only point I actually got the camera out. This look she kept giving me was cracking me up. Think she gets tired of getting her picture taken?... :)

I kept thinking of Ryan & Amanda...(that only makes sense to my family...) Who knows, maybe someday these two will play 'The Hallelujah Chorus' in Teens Involved...not likely...

The batteries in my camera were dying, so I didn't get any more pictures of the day...They played all mornings, so that when naptime came, Eli was OUT. He slept for over 3 hours, which is quite long for him. I may have taken a 2 hour nap...who knows...

Our weekend looks much less exciting. Maybe we'll get to the pool tomorrow...maybe...

I DO have a post planned on the before/after pictures from our kitchen, but I've been waiting for a couple of cabinet doors to come in. They are in, now, so once I charge up my batteries I'll take some pictures and post it. It looks SO NICE!

Monday we had a little 'party' :) Krista & Katie, Leilani & Isaac, and Abuela came over for a wonderfully fun day of playing. The toys ALL tend to come out when friends are over :)

We had so much fun hanging out. Mom had to go to work, so she was only there for a couple of hours, and Leilani had to go too, but Krista stayed & Eliott came after work and we all had dinner together. Then Krista and I went to Walmart & Target (minus the kids...heavenly!) and got a little shopping done. It was a very relaxing, fun day!

No titles come to mind

I've been terrible about posting lately. I really have no excuse. Occasionally I have a very busy day, but for the most part, I've just been lazy. Plus there haven't been too many exciting things happening...ya know, just normal every day stuff. I just put the few pictures I have actually taken in the last couple of weeks onto my computer, so I figured I'd share some here.

I did make a cake for a friend. She was throwing a baby shower. It was a pretty simple cake, but I thought it turned out kind of sweet. It's a little hard to read because of the white writing...I had fun making it, though cakes make me SO nervous. Here is the end result: We also had a visit from Eli's friend Creed. His mom and dad were moving all of their stuff into a new house, so Creed came over to play. They boys had a lot of fun together, though I didn't take many pictures...this one made me laugh. When Creed first got here he didn't want to leave the entryway...Eli was trying to get him to come and play.
We went to a baseball game last week. Edgar didn't get to go, so Eli and I went with Ryan, Ben & Carly. Eli did really good-he enjoyed 'watching' the game...and getting up and down from the seat & my lap...This first one is a self portrait...not the best, but the only one I took of the two of us...I've been so lazy with the camera!

Not sure why there was a cat playing the piano on the big screen, but I was entertained...

He finally fell asleep in the 8th inning (it was a day game, so the 8th inning was at about 2:20...) and slept for about 20 minutes. He did amazingly well that evening on that little sleep. I'm starting to get worried that he doesn't need as much sleep as he used to :( I gotta admit...I love it when he takes a good 3 hour nap...I'm afraid those days are gone.

Last week our church had VBS, and I got to teach the 3rd & 4th graders. I had a lot of fun working with the kids. Everything was done really well, and was very organized. It was a little tough, though, because it was from 6pm-9pm, so it made for a late evening for this pregnant mommy. Edgar would meet me at the church and take Eli home, so Eli got some great daddy time, which was nice. (I HAVE to get a video of Eli & Edgar singing 'There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly'...it's hilarious...)
Last week we also went to the Aquarium with Edgar's cousins, and Leilani & Isaac. It was fun as usual. The outdoor water area is always Eli's favorite, but it has been SO hot here, that after an hour, I was done, so we headed for home around 1.

I had a dr. appointment last week as well. I'm to the point where I have to go every 2 weeks now-this pregnancy is flying by! Everything looked good. I was at 30 weeks, and measured 31 cm, so I'm right on track. I think I have another ultrasound in a couple of weeks too...it's always fun to see the still unnamed baby.

Yesterday we went to the movies and watched the Veggie Tales movie 'Jonah'. Some of the theaters around here show kids movies for free in the summer, so we went. Eli loved it-he's on a Veggie Tales kick right now. When Bob came on the screen he yelled out 'BOB!'. It was very cute. After the movie one of his friends came over to play, so he had a very fun day yesterday :)

I'm trying to think of what else we've been up to...I'm sure there's more-surely I can't be this tired if this is all we've been doing :)
Today we have been laying low. Yesterday I was having a LOT of Braxton-Hicks contractions (some of them somewhat painful) so Edgar instructed me not to do anything today :) You really shouldn't tell me that-I'll take you quite seriously and sit on the couch all day. Eli has been playing so good today. We've read (a lot of) books, and he has been playing in his little corner all morning. He has gotten a few toys out, as you can see here:

but I'm not going to complain. (Actually, since this picture was taken, the toy amount has nearly doubled...I wonder where he gets messiness from?...) I've been looking online for different things for him, so maybe he knows I'm looking at toys, and wants me to be undistracted...He ate a huge lunch and is about to settle down for a nap.

I will leave you with one more video of Eli showing off some of his new words. His new favorite word/food is yogurt...or 'yo-guck' as he likes to call it. He asks for it at every meal...and in between meals...I guess it's better than 'cookie' (which he can also say :) )

We're still here...

...we've just been busy :) Eli has moved into his 'big boy bed'...sort of. The mattress is just on the floor, but we wanted him to be out of his crib for a while before the baby came. SO, when we came back from Michigan he went right to his bed. He loves it! This is him after his first night :)
He loves that he can get out himself. He usually plays in his room for a while in the morning before I go get him. He also enjoys playing in his room before his nap...although he's not really SUPPOSE to do that. The other day I put him down at 1, and he played in there until 3. Then he fell asleep until 4:30. I don't mind him playing as long as he stays in there...and if he takes a nap too, even better :)

Jennifer also did a post about this (Which you can see HERE). It was very neat. Unfortunately, Eli wanted to get into the water so bad, that he was screaming the whole time, so I really didn't get to see much-I had to walk away with Eli :( Edgar video taped it, though, so I can watch it over and over if I want :)

Our kitchen is coming along wonderfully. The cabinets are in.

The refrigerator has finally moved out of the dining room. (honestly...I kind of miss having it in the dining room at dinner time...I got kind of used to it)

The granite came today and has been installed... ...and everyone rejoiced... :)

Eli is enjoying the new kitchen.

We still have to do the tile, but that is going to have to wait for a little while. We need to get the baby's room taken care of next.

I have big plans for a 'before and after' post, but I'm debating whether to do that now or wait until the tile comes in...that might be a while, though. Maybe I'll do a 'before and almost after' post...I know you all are just dying to see what the kitchen looks like :)
