My Amazing Nephew!

I am certain Jennifer will be posting about today's events very soon, but I thought I'd post some of the pictures from today as well. I had some trouble with pictures (which I didn't realize until I got home...I still need to work on indoor shots...) so the pictures aren't great, but BEN did amazing today. It was such a pleasure to watch him go! Ben, amidst the crowd of much older kids. He was the youngest kid I saw today. He got asked to swim with the high school boys-they needed another person for their relay. This was the state championship meet. It was a pretty big honor for him to be asked.

Eli had a great time just watching. He was SO good the whole time. He was pretty mesmerized by the kids swimming back and forth.

I think this pictures kinda funny...you can see Ben with the other 3 guys he swam with...they are literally head and shoulders taller than him :) He didn't seem the least bit intimidated.

He swam so well! I'm not sure of his official time, but it was right around his personal best. We were so excited for him!

You can see the team's time-4:03:91. They didn't win, but we were so proud of how hard they did swim. Those boys are SO fast! Ben was amazingly calm throughout (at least I thought he was :) )
We're so proud of you, Ben, and so glad we got to see you in your first (of MANY) championship meet!

Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips

I feel like I haven't had anything to 'report' on lately...Most days I do all I can do to make it to Eli's nap time...when I also take a nap :) I feel like all day I'm just working for my next nap opportunity :)

Today, however, we did go to my 8-week doctor appointment. There wasn't anything too exciting at the appointment. My doctor said they were going to stick with the 10.10.10 due date (even though that's different than the due date based on my cycle) so I'm only 8 weeks along instead of 9. Unfortunately, 10.10.10 is on a Sunday...so the likely hood of me convincing the doctor to schedule a C-section on a Sunday is slim to none...so I'll just have to enjoy the due date...and live with the fact that that won't be the actual birth date. Oh well :) I'm sure at that point I won't really care. He checked my heart to make sure it was beating...it is. And I am also breathing-which he checked. Eli was a little concerned when he saw the doctor using the stethoscope on me...apparently he still remembers his last doctor visit...

We ran a few errands and came home. I took my much needed nap (I was particularly tired today) and spent the afternoon on the phone and playing with Eli.

Sorry, no pictures. I've been bad about getting the camera out lately. Tomorrow there will probably be lots of pictures :)

Oh...and Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips are currently my favorite food. Now if I could just drink more than 8 oz of water a day...workin' on that...

Scales...

It's kinda sad that it took me getting pregnant with my second child to finally get back to my pre-pregnancy weight...*sigh* I look forward to being able to eat normally again. I've lost 4 pounds in 4 weeks...I really can't complain, though...I haven't thrown up...yet. Came close today. Gross. I am, however, sleeping every second I can. It's ridiculous. I slept 10 hours last night and took a 2 hour nap this afternoon. It's 8:45...and I think I might head to bed :)

Things are going pretty good, though. I think Eli has finally figured out walking. He kinda zig-zags his way around walking from 'thing to thing' to get to where he wants to go. He's pretty proud of himself. He's going to Jennifer's tomorrow, and I'm really hoping he chases the cats. I think that could be amusing.

We've been spending most evenings watching the Olympics...Winter Olympic athletes are CRAZY.

Alright...off to bed :) Thought you'd like a little update :) I have plans for taking photos of the growing belly throughout the pregnancy, so I'll start posting those once I get around to it. It's kinda funny...it seems like overnight, and already I got a little baby bump...

A Perfect 10!

Yesterday we received some very good news. A little over a week ago I started bleeding a little, and so my doctor wanted us to have an ultrasound. A week ago when I had one done, it was too early to see the heartbeat, so we had to go back a week later and repeat the ultrasound. (And I had to try and stay off my feet for a week...Thanks Edgar for picking up the slack while I laid around... :) )

Anyway, yesterday we got to see our little (very little) baby :) The baby is 1/2 cm long...can you see him/her? I'll zoom in a bit...

Yup. That's our baby :) Little, but strong :) The ultrasound tech was a bit impressed with the baby's 140 bpm heart rate-she said that that is a pretty strong heart rate for a baby at this stage. She measured it, and said our due date would be October 10. Yup...that's 10.10.10...A perfect 10 :) It's every math teacher's dream...

There's another ultrasound going on in the family today...can't wait to hear how Randee & Johnny's baby is!!!

15 month appointment

Sorry, no pictures in this post :) This is one of those 'for my own records' posts :) Eli went to his 15 month appointment. He is officially 25 lbs 13 oz (68th percentile), 32.5 inches tall (86th percentile) and has a head circumference 18.5 inches (44th percentile). The Doctor was very pleased with his progress :) Eli is really starting to fight the doctor when he checks him out, though. I had to basically hold him down while the doctor examined him, and he's squirmy! He did get the dreaded MMR shot today...though the doctro assured me that it's safe. We talked a bit about that and a few things to watch out for. Overall, a great visit to the doctor.

Happy Birthday Kaz!

You may or may not remember this post from a year ago...I'm assuming you don't :) But in it, you'll see a picture of us meeting Kaz. Amazingly enough, Kaz turned 1...I can't believe how fast time flies! On Saturday we went to Jared & Bri's house to celebrate. I got to make his cake-Bri got me a cake pan, and I thought it turned out pretty cute :)

I also made some monkey cookies. They were fun to make too.

I think Eli could have stayed in the 'ball pit' all day.

Valentine's Party #2

Thursday after my class and a quick nap, Eli and I headed to Krista's house for another Valentines Party. I must say...when Krista has a party, she does it up good! Katie always loves a good party!
Eli quite often looked like this...tryin' to climb up on mommy...Actually, he played pretty good with the other kids :)

Some of the cookies Krista made. She had a bunch of different kinds, and a bunch of different food. It was quite the spread!
