Leilani's shower!

I am finally getting the chance to go through the pictures from Leilani's shower! It's only been 3 days...yikes! Thought I'd share a few pictures from this past Saturday

The favors...I wonder who made those?...

Krista made the cake-AWESOME! And it tasted great too :) (Seriously...I'm thinking about asking her to make Eli's birthday cake...somehow I think that's my job, though...)

Mom made this centerpiece-the flowers are made out of baby socks! Super cute! She also made the popcorn balls for any kids that might come.

Mom also had a TON of food. I meant to get a picture of 'the spread' but I forgot. I helped her make a baby carriage out of a watermelon-it was super cute! But again...forgot to take a picture :(

My camera 'buddy'...yeah...we're dorks. We'll admit it. I think she has a picture of me just like this one...

I just want you all to know that it has been good knowing you...because once Edgar sees that I posted this picture he's going to kill me. Just so ya know. And yes, he is posing for this...and promptly demanded I delete the picture...funny how forgetful I can be...

We got there early to help mom, and Krista, Eliott & Katie got there a bit early too...so Krista and I headed out to the backyard to snap some pictures. I thought this one was super cute!

Happy girl!

After we ate (WAY too much!) we all gathered together and mom read some passages from the Bible. A beautiful reminder of what this soon-to-be-here baby means to our Saviour!

I think Eric & Leilani had fun opening their gifts...and thinking about where they were going to store it all! I can't believe little Isaac is going to be here in just a few weeks! If I know Leilani, though, everything is already put away and organized :)

My Little Pumpkin

Growing up, my mother often called us 'pumpkin'. (Except for Randee...she was her 'little lamb') Well, for Eli's first costume wearing bonanza, he's going to be my little pumpkin :)

Yesterday I tried the costume on to make sure it was going to fit...it did, and was super cute, so I proceeded to take 250 pictures of him...hmmm...I have a picture obsession...

Anyway, here are 10 of my favorites. I didn't really have time to edit them very well, so they are a bit shadowy (is that a word) and I'm still trying to figure out lighting with my camera, but his cuteness comes through :)

Okay...what happened to the color on this one? Weird...it looked good in photoshop. If I had time, I'd fix it, but you'll just have to enjoy the strange coloring :)

I have been busy...I have a bunch of pictures I would love to post, and different details I'm sure you're dying to know, but life just got crazy! I've been working last night and this morning (yay! I got up at 5:30 and have been going strong since!) on some more sugar cookies for various fall parties this week. They are turning out pretty cute-I'll post pictures when I'm done..I think.

We also had Leilani's baby shower on Saturday. It was super nice. Okay...I would write more, but Eli just woke up crying...doesn't usually do that. I'm gonna go get him.

Family

Today has been a busy day...more on that later. Tonight we got home, and I sat down to work on Eli's one year old shot, and got 'stuck' on this picture.

Playing with my 'new' camera, and eatin' pizza with friends

Yesterday Eli and I headed to the park so he could play, and I could mess with my camera. I took several pictures...none that I loved, but I thought I'd put a couple up, because who wants to read a blog entry that doesn't have pictures?! None of these have been edited...too lazy tonight :)

Our friend that is letting us borrow the camera suggested we start by trying to use the camera in 'aperture priority', so that is what I was messing with. I didn't realize the sun was messing up the pictures so much...I thought the one above was kinda cool looking...but totally unintentional :)

Eli really enjoyed the park. He LOVES the slide! I would put him half-way up, and he would slide down-I didn't even hold him! He loved it. We went on the swings too, but they didn't have a 'kiddie swing' so he just sat on my lap. He still had fun.

He is so close to standing on his own!

Now we just gotta work on him getting to a standing position on his own :)
Today has been a fairly busy day. I taught my class while Eli hissed at kitties, came home, got lunch, and spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the house. At 4:30 we went over to our friend's house for dinner. I don't know if you remember me asking you to pray for our friend Trish who was having surgery. That's who we went to see. She's doing GREAT! It was so nice to spend the evening with them, as well as Krista, Eliott & Katie. We just got home a little after 9-Eli was still awake...maybe that means he'll sleep in tomorrow...probably not...The good news is, my house is REALLY clean :)

A Walk in the Park

Later Sunday afternoon (after I took a 2 hour nap...while Edgar took care of Eli. Thanks daddy!) we went to the park. This was a different park than we normally go to, so it was fun to see a new place. I went for a run while Edgar took Eli for a walk, and then he played with him in a big field that was at the park.

I was able to run about 4.25 miles-it's an estimate. I ran for 50 minutes, so I'm hoping I went at least that far :) It felt really good to be running that far. The weather was amazing. We went from unseasonably hot to unseasonably cold overnight. It was wonderful.

Oh...so about the camera...on Saturday our friend took pictures of Eli (I still have to work on those...that post might be a while coming...) When we got there she said she had something for me. Well, she started off with a Canon Rebel xti a while back and just recently bought a nicer camera (don't know the type...). She knew I had been saving up for a SLR camera, so she said I could borrow her old one until I got mine. I just about jumped out of my skin! I was SO excited! SO...ya thought I took a lot of pictures before! Now I have (on loan...) an even nicer camera, and I'm learning how to use it :)

Edgar is also learning how to use it as well-the camera is really for both of us :) Here are some shots he took while I was running.

This last one is the one I posted earlier today...I just brightened it a bit.

We thoroughly enjoyed this park...and plan on going back again. The path is super nice, and it had a boardwalk that goes out over the river. Lots of places to take pictures...and play with our son :)

Pumkin Patch

It would seem it's time to visit the pumkin patch :) We took Eli yesterday for his first visit to the Pumkin patch near our church. It wasn't as big as the one Krista or Renae just went to but I still managed to take 200 pictures...that could be because I was playing with a new camera (that story to come later...

Anyway...I put some pictures in a collage, because there were just so many of them...and the rest are some of my favorites :)

We had so much fun. You'll notice in the first set of pictures that Olivia was there too. John & Christine joined us for the first bit, and we got some more pictures of Eli & Olivia...ya can never have enough!

Yes, we did buy a pumpkin...now I just have to decide what to do with it...
