This week's Saturday project :)

Today I have spent most of the day having fun decorating sugar cookies :) I just bought these cookie cutters off of ebay, and have been itching for an excuse to use them...and, lucky for me, there is a baby shower this Sunday! So I made the cookies last night, and decorated them today. I made 24 total cookies, which took me about 5 hours to decorate...now I know why these sell for $6.00 a piece online! I had a lot of fun doing it, though. Unfortunately, my house still needs to be cleaned...

Eli's lookin' at ya!

Today we had a second ultrasound, and we got to see Eli again :) It was pretty fun (except for the fact that I felt really sick laying on my back...but I survived) This first picture is looking straight at his face. You can see his hair, (right) then his eyes, chubby cheecks, mouth & nose. The tech took a lot of picutres of his face, and I took a picture of the picture with my camera. They didn't turn out great using our camera, but they're not too bad. Hopefully you can tell what you're looking at :)

The second one he has his arm over his face (which is just like how his dad sleeps...) The third one is a little harder to tell, but it is a profie shot. His hand is up above his face. The last one is a picture of his foot :)

He is a rather large baby...he's already over 4 pounds, which puts him in the 91st percentile. My doctor said he's on track to be a 9 lb baby, so we'll see how that goes without an epidural...

The doctor said everything looks really good, though. He's in the right position, and the placenta has moved to where it is suppose to be. I'm just amazed that he is already 4 pounds...I guess I kind of look like I'm having a giant, so it's probably a good thing that he actually is big, and I'm not just overeating, right?!

Eli's room update

Hello again. I just wanted to show you the result of Edgar's hard work today. He did a wonderful job painting the baby's room, and he put in some closet shelves as well (he's still working on those a bit...) I LOVE the way it turned out! I can't wait to get all of the furniture in it! The colors on the wall match Eli's bedding almost perfectly. Edgar also painted the armoire...and painted, and painted it. It took 6 coats I think to cover, but it looks GREAT.

This and That

This is just a 'belly update' :) I continue to get bigger and bigger, and Eli continues to move more and more. I'm convinced he's gonna be a gymnast with all the movin' around he does. He mostly moves early in the morning and in the evenings. It's pretty fun to watch him move--because I can see my belly move :)

Edgar and I went to a pool party on Saturday, and I made this cake--I thought it turned out really pretty, so I thought I'd put it online. It's a pound cake cut in three layers with a cheesecake filling between each layer topped with strawberries and kiwis. It was very fun to make, and not too terribly challenging. The good news is that it tasted really good too :)

Today we are getting some stuff done around the house...I have a bunch of stuff to do on eBay, and Edgar is painting Eli's room (hence the 'before' picture of his room) I've been trying to get rid of some BeautiControl stock, and have been selling it on eBay. So far most of it has sold, but now I

have to package it all up mail it. I'm not makin' much money, but at least it is getting out of the house, right?! Tomorrow Edgar doesn't have to work, so hopefully we will be able to get some additional stuff done around the house. I'm suddenly realizing that 10 weeks isn't really that long...

Course 2 Final Cake

So I just finished the final class of my second cake decorating class, and here is the finished product. We have been making all the different flowers throughout the course (4 weeks) and this week we learned how to do the basket weave and the border, and then we put all the flowers on we had made. It was very fun. I am going to try and take one more class before Eli comes. It starts in 2 weeks. This class we learn how to do tiered cakes, and we learn some more flowers--like lilies and poinsettias. It should be fun. I have a good time decorating stuff, though I'm not all that creative--I have to have something to guide me, but it turns out good in the end :) There are a lot of cute websites that have great ideas. Hopefully I can do some fun stuff at Christmas...we'll see.

My Latest Endeavor...

As some of you know, I am currently going to cake decorating classes, and this class we are learning to make all sorts of different kinds of flowers...so Krista (my sister-in-law) told me about this site (etsy.com) where you can sell handmade crafts...so here goes nothing! I've decided to try and sell a few of these flowers online. They are made of icing that gets really hard--it's a lot like those sugar candy things you can buy in the store to put on cakes. Anyway, I am going to start by selling them 12 for $6.00, and see how that goes. They are pretty easy to make, and I spent the afternoon making daisies, apple blossoms, primroses, violets, chrysanthemums (I feel like Anne Shirley when I try and spell that...) and drop flowers. It was fun, but I'm pretty sick of icing right now.

If you would like some, I'd be happy to send them to you :) (family gets the 'just pay for shipping' discount :) ) I decided if these don't sell I'll just make some really cute cupcakes. The nice thing is, these last for a year if you keep them in a cool, dry place...so they shouldn't go bad.

Anyway...I putting a couple other pictures on, and then I really need to clean up the disaster I have in the kitchen before Edgar gets home!

A Day at the Beach

This past weekend Edgar and I had the chance to spend some time with his parents at the beach. (Sorry, no pictures...I accidentally left the camera in Edgar's car...which he took to work...) We had a very nice time. His parents got a room for a whole week, and invited us to come and spend the night Sunday night. We went right after church on Sunday, and had lunch with the whole family. Ruth cooked spaghetti for all of us, and we had cake and ice cream for Eric's birthday. We spent some time in the pool and played some games. It was a very nice, relaxing afternoon.

Monday Edgar had to go to work, so I got to spend the day with his parents. It was a real treat to just lay around and read, and talk to them. Ruth got up early and went for a walk along the beach. She came back with some of the biggest sea shells I've ever seen. We sat and talked for a long time out by the pool, and then went in for pancakes and eggs :) We spent the day laying around in the pool and watching a movie. Probably the highlight of the weekend was watching Edgar's parents trying to dunk each other in the pool. I was laughing pretty hard. Ruth, unfortunately, went under :) Then dad laid in a raft that was only about 1/8 filled, and I was cracking up watching him float...or maybe sink...I'm not exactly sure which it was.

After Edgar got home he and I went for a walk on the beach. The sky was amazing! There was a tropical storm moving in, so the clouds were really cool looking. You could see it raining in the distance, and the water was starting to get rough. Unfortunately, because of the tropical storm, everyone along the beach had to evacuate, so Edgar's parents packed up a few things and headed inland for the day, so we all left together. They should be able to return today, though, so they didn't miss too much of their vacation :)

All in all we had a wonderful time, didn't get too sunburned, and are back home ready to work all week :)
