Meet La-ia

Okay...so that is not her name. It IS currently the funniest name I've ever heard. In case you don't know how to pronounce it, it's 'La-dash-ee-a'. That's right...you pronounce the 'dash'. It's a name Jennifer recently proposed, and that's what I'll call her until we come up with the actual name. That could be a while, though...

Anyway, here are some (long ago) promised pictures of the ultrasound we had a couple of weeks ago.

And this is (ahem...) the current 'I'm a girl' shot. You can see her legs and her cute little bum.

That's all we'll see of her until the next ultrasound, which is at 20 weeks, I think. I'm looking forward to feeling her move soon-she was moving all over the place during the ultrasound. I have been feeling significantly better the last couple of days...I even cleaned out my refrigerator. Now THAT'S something! Now if I can just get to those bathrooms...maybe tomorrow :)

Fun with Katie

Today Katie came over to play. Eli and Katie are really starting to play well together. Eli was totally entertained the entire time she was here...which meant mommy got to get some papers graded, and when Krista came back, we had a nice afternoon hanging out while the kiddos played. Ummm....I think there are more than toys in that toy box!

Eli only fell down the steps once during the day...don't worry, he wasn't hurt. I think it scared him, though. I keep going back and forth as to whether to get a gate for 2 steps...it seems silly for just two little steps...but I suppose if he is going to fall down them, I should probably protect him...or maybe it will just toughen him up...
I took a few videos of the afternoon...perhaps they are only entertaining to me :) I thought it was so fun to watch the kids play together. SO, enjoy if you like...or skip the videos entirely :)

Oh...and GO TIGERS. YAY! Baseball season has started :) Our little girl should be born just in time to watch the Tigers win the World Series... :)

Easter Sunday

Sunday was, of course, Easter. Edgar and I taught Sunday School, so we weren't in the actual service at church, but in SS we told the story of what Christ did for us. It was a good reminder of what Easter is about and always interesting to look at from a kids perspective.

I didn't get my camera out at church, but Jennifer took a few pictures of Eli, which you can see here. Most of Edgar's family came over for lunch. It was fun to have everyone here.

This is a rather 'un-Easter' picture...but I wanted to let Jennifer know that the avocado tree that we thought was dead, has some new life. I think it will survive!

Eli enjoyed playing with great grandpa's cane. It was pretty funny :)

Since Easter, this pretty much has been what Eli has been doing...walking around with his two balloons. Seriously...he plays with them all day...

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. (Though we managed to forget to get a family picture...)

In other 'news'...we did have an ultrasound on Friday, and discovered that our baby is (most likely...it's still pretty early) a girl :) Oh boy....I mean...girl...I need to take a picture of the ultrasound picture so you can see her too :) I'll get to that eventually...

Easter Egg Hunt

Friday we went to an Easter egg hunt with the mommy group I'm a part of. This is a picture of most of the moms and the kiddos. It's really been a great group-it gives Eli and I a lot of options for 'weekly activities' :)

And we're off to find them! Edgar had the day off, and since dads were invited to this meet-up, he came with us...so I got some rare pictures of me with Eli.

Eli loved the eggs...though he didn't quite 'get' that they were suppose to go in the basket. He liked to pick them up and throw them on the ground :)

We had a lot of fun. I will admit, it was really nice having Edgar there-he really played with Eli a lot, and I got a chance to hang out with the moms. It felt like a day off :)

Every time I post lately, I think 'I need to stop getting behind on my posts'...and then a week goes by and I still don't post. *sigh* SO, here is yet another whirlwind view of what this little family has been doing... We've been doin' some dancing...with no pants on. Okay...so only Eli does that. He loves these beads I got for St. Patrick's day, and wears them around. He's also grown quite fond of the no pants look...He HAS finally learned how to dance :) Gotta catch that on video...

We went to the Aquarium with some friends.

Although, now that he can walk, he's a little harder to keep up with. At what age do they learn to hold your hand?!

I had Isaac with us that day too. I learned a very important lesson that day...never attempt to go to the Aquarium with 2 kids alone...fortunately I had lots of other moms to help me out :)

Eli also had been enjoying 'helping' daddy with all of his projects around the house. Eli discovered power tools...oh boy...

Every time he would push the button down he would look up and say 'Woah!' It was pretty cute.

Until his thumbs got tired, and then he just got mad.

We've gone to the park several times,

though I'm pretty sure Eli would be content with a sandbox and a stick...that's pretty much all he plays with at the park.

Today we celebrated Edgar's birthday (he was sick the weekend of his birthday...) Edgar always requests a cookie cake as opposed to a 'traditional' cake, so this is what he got :) Very easy to make and decorate, so I never complain :)

He BARELY got all of the candles out, but he DID blow them out in one breath.

A very sweaty Eli playing with Isaac too! 'GENTLE, ELI!' Somehow I think that phrase is going to be heard an awful lot around our house in about 28 weeks...

Other 'things' that happened in the past week...I had my 12-week appointment and heard the baby's heartbeat. It's beating good and strong at 150 bpm. We have an ultrasound this Friday, and apparently as long as the baby cooperates, we'll know the sex of the baby. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it would be pretty cool to know this early. Especially since it might take us a VERY long time to agree on a name.

Edgar is feeling much better-he had a rough go of it there for a few days. He's 'recovered' and has been working really hard. He finished the closet in the office, and it looks GREAT. Lots of storage room. I need to take some pictures...

I can't really think of anything else at this particular moment, so I think I will go. I am going to do my best to do better posting-I'm starting to get my energy back somewhat...Now watch, tomorrow I'll be completely wiped out :) Some of it may have to do with the fact that I've been able to stomach coffee lately...that seems to really help with the exhaustion :)

This last video (if it will ever load...) is one of Eli feeding himself. He has fed himself his oatmeal the last two days...it's a little messy, but he gets the job done! Way to go big guy!

Okay...I give up. The video won't load. I'll try again tomorrow.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! (a day late...)

Yesterday Eli and I had a bunch of friends over for St. Patrick's Day. We hosted the party for the mommy group I am a part of. There were 7 moms and 9 kids...so we had a full house! It was a lot of fun. There was a BUNCH of green food (which I failed to take a picture of...) and lots of green clothing. The party was suppose to be at the park, but because of rainy weather, we moved it here...so I didn't really have many decorations up...but the food was decoration enough I suppose. Here are a few pictures of our fun day! This little guy is super cute. He LOVED playing the piano and was devastated when we had to close it up...cuz it was getting pretty loud.
Eli is walking like a pro now...though he usually walks with his hands up like that. I think he is so used to holding on to someones hand, that that's how he thinks he's suppose to walk...

This mommy has a little guy...not a year old yet...and she's pregnant with TWIN boys. I get tired just thinking about her...

Eli played hard with all of his friends. He was wiped OUT when everyone left. I was all excited that he would take a nice long nap...not to be. He slept for just over an hour, but at least he took a nap, right?!...hmmmm....
