Alright...so what took an hour to try and do last night just took 5 minutes this morning...apparently I should have listened to my mother when she said just have go to bed and try again in the morning :) Mother always knows best, right?!
Anyway, here are a few more pictures from yesterday..

Don't watch, Jennifer...Eli took a ride with dad on the new lawn mover...the blade was disengaged, and I'm pretty sure dad went about 1 mile and hour..he LOVED it!


He wanted to swing, but I'm pretty sure he'd fall off of that swing. I think if I tried to get on it with him it would break-it's not THAT strong of a branch!

Hope you enjoyed the shots. I officially have the camera out now, so I should be taking more and more pictures. It's really windy out right now, though, so we might not be getting outside much today...but we GOTTA get over to see the kitties again today!

Pictures...finally!

I finally pulled my camera out and took a few shots of the day. We had a great day today. It was wonderfully cool again. In fact, as you can see in the pictures, Eli had long sleeves on and pants all day. It was cool and overcast and perfect. I am waiting for the pictures to upload to flickr, so I am just going to write everything and I'll post the pictures once they are uploaded.

One thing that is surprising to me (that I don't remember from when I was a kid) is how early it gets light and how late it stays light...tonight it was still a bit light out at 9:45! It starts to get light in the morning at 5:30...it's crazy. Today I was just sure I had slept way in, but when I got out of bed to check the time it was only 7:00! I would have gone back to bed, but Eli saw me, so we just got up. We ate breakfast and got ready for our day.

We headed over to Walmart (again) and bought half the store :) I love grocery shopping...When we came home we had lunch and then we went outside to play for a while. That's what most of the following pictures are from. We had so much fun just walking around and playing. Eli loves Sam (my dad's dog). He was following him around for quite a while. Eli got on the trampoline very briefly, and had grandpa give him a ride on his new lawnmower. (My dad got this new lawnmower...a zero-point turn one...it's amazing. Dad mowed the whole lawn in 30 minutes. I think Edgar needs one...)

After nap time we made dinner, ate, then went for a walk. On our way back we went over to Grandma's house and saw the new baby kittens. They were super cute. Eli LOVED them. I think he would have squeezed the kittens to death if I wouldn't have been there-he just wanted to love on them! I wish I would have had my camera with me, but I'm sure there will be lots of opportunities to get shots of that in the next couple of weeks.

After Eli went to bed I started working on the cookies I'm making for Randee's shower on Sunday. I have a LONG way to go, but got a good start.

I have 6 other photos I have been now trying to upload for the last hour...something is either wrong with the internet or with flickr...but i give up...I will try and post the rest of the pictures tomorrow. It's 11:38...I'm tired.

Correction...

As I got into bed last night I realized that I had 'mis-typed'...Eli didn't say 'Oh no' when told he was getting a haircut...he said 'Oooohh Man!' THAT is a new phrase for him...though it is quickly becoming his favorite. He's said it about 20 times today. It's pretty cute.
Still haven't gotten the camera out...I gotta get on that...but all we've done today so far is go to Walmart, and that's not really 'photo worthy'...especially if you're Jennifer... :)

Our Trip and Day 1

I'm sure you all have been just 'itching' to know what's been going on :)

Eli and I made it to my parent's house yesterday. We had a great flight. Edgar helped Eli and I to the gate at the airport, but I had to get all the 'stuff' to the seat, and get his car seat strapped in. It actually wasn't too bad...but I was sweating by the time I finally sat down :) Eli was SO good on the flight. He slept for about an hour of it, read some books, ate a snack, watched a video, and we played with puppets. It was really quite an easy flight. We got off the plane (with the car seat, a rolling carry-on, backpack, my purse...and Eli...) and headed towards baggage claim. We got off the elevators and saw my mom right away, got to the baggage carousel and saw my suitcases right away, and met my dad at the curb. We landed at 4:30, and were on the road at 5-we did pretty good :)

It was wonderfully cool when we arrived-I could get used to this...We got home at 8 and my sister & brother-in-law came over, then grandpa & grandma came over. I think Eli was a little overwhelmed by everything-he wouldn't let go of me...except when my dad showed him the train he could play with...he didn't get to bed until almost 9:30, and fell asleep right away.

Today has been pretty low-key. Eli didn't get up until a little after 8, we got dressed and ready, and headed to Walmart. That was about the most activity we had for the day...Eli got his hair cut...we went to great-grandpa & grandma's house...we went swimming...not too much to report. Believe it or not I haven't actually gotten my camera out yet...Lazy I suppose. I need to get it out tomorrow and take some pictures of Eli with my dad's dog. The dog licks Eli right in the face and Eli thinks it's SO funny. He sees the dog and immediately says 'rough-rough'. He's so cute.

Funny moment of the day...I was sitting with Eli right after his nap and said 'Eli, you need to go get your hair cut', and he immediately said 'Ooooooh, Nnnnoooo!' It was so funny. Especially funny, since he's never said that phrase before. My mom, sister and I laughed so hard, he got embarrassed. Very funny.

Alright...off to bed. I'll have pictures tomorrow :)

Bush Gardens with Dad

This past Friday we were able to get into Bush Gardens free (again!) with Ryan and the kids (and Tracy & Torrey). We didn't stay with them-for some reason they didn't want to ride the Sesame Street rides...but we had our own fun :)

We were there from 6:30 until 9. Eli seemed to warm up to some of the rides this time-I think Daddy makes him brave :) We headed out of the park for home after a fun evening. Eli didn't get to bed until 10, so we were all tired when we got home. (Eli was still up at 7 the next morning, however...) It was worth going, though! We loved it-it was especially fun that Edgar could come too. Having the whole family together always makes things more fun!

Playing with friends

Today we met with some friends from church for some fun play time at a playground & splash pad. On our way there, Eli and I stopped at the Einstein's Bagels that I used to work at and got an Asiago Bagel and coffee...yummmmmmmm. It was fun to see some of the people I used to work with...and it made me very glad that I'm now a stay at home mom :)

We got to the park right around 10, and Eli was so excited to see the water. I think he could have stayed in the water all day-he LOVED it!
Megan and her mom met up with us as well-she's a little bundle of energy!

We got to play with Hendrick for the first time today too-it's always fun to play with new pals!

Isn't he cute?! His mom is pregnant again too-both our kids will be right around the same age! Her daughter is due a month after ours is.

Eli and Meghan were fascinated by the garbage truck...

Christine and Olivia were there too...but I didn't get any good pictures of Olivia, which stinks, because she looked so cute today with little pig tails in her hair. I swear, she looks just like 'Boo' from Monster's Inc...

After telling the moms that Eli now easily transitions from being asleep in the car seat to his bed, Eli (after sleeping for 25 min. on the way home) is currently talking away in his crib :( I'm determined to keep him in there for a while though...he really does need to sleep longer than 25 minutes...Fortunately he seems to be perfectly content in his crib at the moment.

We had so much fun hanging out-the kids all played so well, and the moms got a while to get a good long chat in.
