Tuesday Morning at the beach

One very nice thing about our 'vacation home' is that it is very close to the beach, so Tuesday morning we headed out to enjoy some fun in the sun. We tried to get there early-we didn't plan to stay for too long...hoping to be home by lunch so that we wouldn't get too hot. The set-up of the 'site' is always entertaining to watch. It was pretty windy when we got there, so that made things loads 'o fun...
The kids loved the sand. They were covered! They had so much fun!

I love LOVE watching Eli play with his daddy! Edgar & Eli had so much fun playing at the beach.

Lovin' the giant sand box!

Going for a walk with daddy & Abuelo.

Isaac had a blast. He loved playing with all of the sand toys.

So cute!

I swear Leah was posing for this picture.

Happy momma!

A little football on the beach. (I played for a little while...I can catch a football, but I am terrible at throwing, so I didn't play for long. I blame it on an old high school injury...that makes me sound old)

A happy family!

Katie and Abuela picking up shells on the beach.

She's collected quite a few.

Eric built this beautiful sand castle :)

And Isaac promptly destroyed it :)

It was a wonderful morning at the beach. At one point Leah fell asleep while I was holding her-she hasn't done that for a while. Laying on the beach with my baby was so nice...plus she slept through the 'pack up' time...so I got out of that :) I know how to plan a nap... ;)

A few more Monday details...

I thought I'd post a few more pictures from Monday...cuz they're cute :)

I think the fireplace mantel is the favorite seat in the house...for the kids anyway. It's a nice little spot for them :)

Here's a picture of the water nearby our house. Very pretty :) Lots of boats around here...and mosquitoes...there's a pretty little fishing pier nearby that we will hopefully get to to see the sunset.

On Monday Ruth's brother stopped by with his wife and son. It was super nice to see them-so glad they were able to stay for dinner and hang out for a while!

A little fun with Aunt Krista :)

Isaac enjoying reading some of Eli's books :)

A fun Monday...with much more fun to come!

Monday at the Spray Park!

Monday morning we got up early and tried to get out the door by 9:00. We were out the door by 9:20 which I thought was pretty good for a group as large as ours :) We went to a spray park nearby and had a BLAST playing in the water. Leah fell asleep on the way over, and looks so peaceful sitting here.
I'm pretty sure Isaac had the best time of all :) He was ALL OVER the place have a GREAT time.

Leah woke up and had fun sitting playing in the water. She sat there for an hour and had a great time.

Katie and her mommy :)

Leah was content with her one little spout of water and bucket.

Eli had so much fun playing too. He loves the water.

We stayed there until after lunch and then came home for some well deserved naps. Hopefully we'll get back again this week!!

Vacation Day 2!

Sunday morning was another great day of vacation. Katie was in the mood to pose :)
Apparently when mommy is drinking a lot of carrot juice, it makes baby's nose nice and orange. Leah hasn't really been eating very many orange vegetables, but I've been drinking carrot juice every morning. I had no idea that would transfer to her :)

We got out of the house a bit after 10 and went to a playground nearby. It was an amazing playground! We had a lot of fun watching the kids play, but it got hot pretty quickly, so we didn't stay super long.

It's starting to get hard to get pictures of Eli...he's always off playing :)

Isaac loved the swing!

Sliding with daddy.

Cutie pie :)

Leah was sleeping, so there weren't any pictures of her...

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, swimming in the pool, and going to the grocery store. A fun, restful Sunday!!

Ahhhhhh...Vacation!

We are on vacation. A much needed vacation...for Edgar especially. The last vacation we took, he ended up in the emergency room getting a 6mm kidney stone removed. I think he is due :) My Mother & Father-in-law rented a house for all of us, and we are enjoying ourselves

Edgar and I actually arrived yesterday. It was kind of nice to get here before everyone and get a little settled. We got organized and went for a little walk. Eric and Leilani arrived soon after we got back. We headed to bed nice and exhausted. Unfortunately at 1:00 Leah woke up...and stayed up until 3:00...crying on and off, keeping mom up. We ended up sleeping the rest of the night on the futon. Mommy woke up pretty tired. Leah was completely well rested...not sure how that works.

We got up this morning and headed to the beach...I took zero pictures. It was Leah's first time at the beach and I have no pictures of it :( Oh well...we'll be back to the beach again soon! It was very fun watching her enjoy the beach...and even more fun watching Eli and his daddy playing in the water. Edgar is such a good daddy-it was so amazing to watch him get Eli over his fear of the water and get him to actually get in the water. I could sit back and watch the 2 of them play all day.

When we got back everyone was there and we spent the afternoon hanging out and having fun. Leah has been entertaining to watch...she's been rolling all over the place. She enjoys licking the floor...lovely. I've been trying to sweep often. A little dirt never hurt anyone, right?
Edgar showing off his Wii intimidation pose...

The kids played out on the balcony for quite a while. They are having a BLAST all being together.

Eli lining up all of his cars...inspecting them to make sure they are nice and straight :)

This picture is just to show off Eli's mosquito bites. We went for a walk last night and got attacked...and as usual Eli's bites turned into welts. He currently has 8 welts. Lovely. It's kinda buggy here around dusk...and Eli is a mosquito magnet.

I think Abuela is in Heaven huggin' on her grandbabies :)

Such a pretty little girl :)

Leah hanging out with her Aunt Leilani...and talking to her her unborn cousin :)

The boys had dinner duty tonight. We were joking about how many it took for them to light the grill...They made hamburgers and hot dogs.

Isaac trying on Aunt Krista's hat.

Leah liked playing with it too.

...back to the dinner preparation. In the end, the charcoal we got was no good-it wouldn't stay lit or hot, so it wouldn't cook the food. So the boys had to bring the stuff in and fry the hamburgers on the stove. I thought my mom would appreciate the Tiger's apron getting put to good use :)

Isaac & Abuela playing

The boys and their phones...it's an addiction :)

After dinner we finally celebrated our birthdays. Yeah...it's only over a month late...but better late than never, right? Lovely picture..

After cake we went for a swim in the pool, but had to dodge mosquitoes again, so we weren't in the pool for very long. We gave the kiddos baths and put them to bed. Hoping for a better night from Leah...ugh. We'll see how Eli and Katie do sharing a bed tonight...hopefully Katie doesn't wake up with bruises from our wild man sleeper.

The boys are playing Wii. We're just hanging out and enjoying each other. I'm sure we're in for a great vacation!!

Gorgeous Tile

For fear of Jennifer getting us a monkey, I decided I should probably take a moment this morning and post some pictures of our tile :)

Over Memorial Day weekend, Edgar and his dad worked SO hard to get our kitchen tile done. They did it! And it looks wonderful. Though I will miss our concrete kitchen floor... ;) Here's Edgar laying the very first tile.
I learned the importance of spacers in this whole process...

...and I never knew you had to hammer tile with a cool rubber mallet to get all of the air out. Fun to watch...not so sure it was as much fun to do, but oh well. It's done.

My 'contribution' was taking care of the kids and keeping them out of the kitchen. We had fun going to the pool and hanging out with Jennifer (and the rest of her family). Eli did really good about staying off the kitchen floor. Though at one point I told him 'Don't walk on the floor!' so he proceeded to crawl on it. I guess he didn't disobey...but he kinda missed my point ;)

Dad laying the LAST tile. YAY!

A job well done! We still need to get the transition piece-I got one, but didn't realize I needed a hard wood transition piece, not laminate. Oh well. We'll get it eventually...

And the laundry room. (This room got painted too...though I don't know if you can tell from this picture or not)

I'm very glad to have it done, though I think Edgar is WAY more gladder (nice...) He told me he was going to do a 'happy dance' when the tile and back splash were done. I'm waiting to get a video of that. Not sure when we are going to get to the back splash...hopefully soon.

And finally, I leave you with a picture of Leah from last night. I risked waking her up last night to take this picture of her surrounded by her pacifiers. She likes to have a lot of them in bed with her at night so she can switch them every 2 seconds. Hilarious. It does keep her occupied in the morning when she wakes up-she'll play in her crib with them for quite a while...so it's worth it to have her 'stocked up' :)
